Message From The Executive Director

Ocean County Memorial Park Association was founded in 1965 to serve the burial needs of all of the residents of Ocean County. We are the largest cemetery in Ocean County and as a non-sectarian cemetery, we pride ourselves in serving the needs of thousands of families in our community. The cemetery started as a twenty-five acre memorial park and has grown to one hundred acres of lush grounds offering peace and serenity to all faiths and families. The needs of those who come to Ocean County Memorial Park are met with compassion and service above all others. We firmly believe that families are forever and it is our job to not only maintain the grounds and structures of our cemetery, but also care for the needs of the families we serve.

The cemetery offers a wide variety of burial services including in-ground burial, as well as aboveground mausoleum and niche locations. We have constructed approximately twenty public mausoleum buildings that now exceed ten thousand mausoleum crypts. We also provide cremation services with our modern equipment located on premises at our facility. Our trained counselors and sales staff offer a unique ability with years of experience to assist families at times of need.

Our grounds and office personnel are also a key ingredient to the family services that we offer. I have been associated with Ocean County Memorial Park for twenty-five years as a Trustee and Executive Director. I am also currently the President of the New Jersey Cemetery Association and have served in this capacity for several years now, which has offered me a unique opportunity to better understand what Ocean County Memorial Park can offer to those friends and families we serve.

Throughout the year, Ocean County Memorial Park offers programs to help friends and family members through the grieving process. These programs include bi-monthly memorial services to remember loved ones on special occasions and an annual candlelight memorial service held during the month of December to pay tribute to the memories of the deceased. This service features speakers, choral singing and floral displays and has drawn thousands of people interested in sharing the memories of loved ones during the holiday season.

I consider the employees at Ocean County Memorial Park to be very special in their abilities to serve the needs of our community. I am proud to be associated with Ocean County Memorial Park and assure you that we will continue to provide excellent service and care for all the needs of the people of Ocean County.

Very truly yours,

William J. Murphy
Executive Director
