Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for March 6, 2008

March 06, 2008

I am pleased to report that we have received a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for our Waretown mausoleum/chapel project. Several minor items remain outstanding, which have been scheduled, so that a final Certificate of Occupancy can be received. We are, at this time, coordinating transfers for those families that have been patiently waiting for the final resting place for their loved ones and greatly appreciate their understanding through this difficult construction process. I believe this to be our finest mausoleum building and know it will stand the test of time for years to come. I would like to extend my greatest appreciation to our entire staff for all of their hard work during this process. We will be scheduling and announcing an open house for families and funeral directors that have been involved with this project in the early spring.

We have finalized all of our planning and drawings for our mausoleum addition project in Toms River. We anticipate submitting documents for township approval by mid-March and will monitor this project on a daily basis so that approval from the town can be received as rapidly as possible. We anticipate starting construction as soon as township approval can be obtained and look forward to this project. We have also commenced plans in Toms River for renovation to our irrigation system that services the majority of the cemetery grounds. A new design has been developed and will be implemented within the next few weeks as we attempt to start this project. We are one of the few cemeteries in the State of New Jersey that has such a large percentage of our cemetery serviced by a ground irrigation system. We have operated the existing system for well over 20 years and believe this renovation project will be a great benefit to the cemetery for many years to come.

Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for October 26, 2007 - Waretown facility completed

October 26, 2007

I am pleased to announce the completion of our Waretown mausoleum and chapel facility. We have, over the past month, worked very hard to complete this project and been fortunate to have weather in our favor concerning the sod, tree and shrub planting efforts. Having built 23 mausoleum buildings in my career, I am very pleased with this structure and believe it will serve Ocean County Memorial Park and the residents of Ocean County for centuries to come. In the very near future we will have an open house gathering and dedication for this building which will be announced here.

Our Toms River rock niche program is also nearing completion at our pond location in our main courtyard area. This unique setting offers a tranquil resting place as our cremation business continues to expand. I am also pleased to announce we have entered into contract for the construction of two new mausoleum buildings in Toms River, which will also offer unique products in the ever increasing demand for mausoleum space. I am very pleased with our entire staff and the efforts they put forth to make these projects possible as we continue to grow and expand our operations.

Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for June 27, 2007

June 27, 2007

I am please to announce that the final stages of our construction in Waretown have now commenced. Our site contractor has begin to install a storm sewer drain system which will also lead to additional new curbing and road installation together with the final site work needed to receive our final certificate of occupancy. This project is slated to take approximately 45 days and may cause access problems to certain sections of the cemetery. I am optimistic that we will be planning an early September open house and building dedication ceremony for this complex.

We are also in the final stages of review of proposals for a new mausoleum complex in Toms River which will include products that will be new to our cemetery. We are excited about this project and believe it will enhance the beauty of our Toms River location.

Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for April 24, 2007

April 24, 2007

I have received the final storm sewer drawings for our Waretown Mausoleum and will be requesting bids for the site work so that we may conclude the curbing, parking area and grounds around our new building in Waretown. We believe the wait we have experienced with regard to these revised site plan drawings was well worth the time and will add to the beauty of the cemetery for years to come. The interiors of our new mausoleum and chapel facility have been completed and we have started moving furniture into the facility. The chapel area will have approximately twelve pews and a matching lectern to facilitate memorial services held in the building. These solid oak features will stand the test of time and add great beauty to the building.

We have also commenced planning for our new mausoleum addition in Toms River which calls for a 1,200 mausoleum crypt building offering an open breeze chapel area, as well as an enclosed area as families may prefer. We are very excited with the addition design plans and are attempting to finalize pricing for this project. I anticipate commencing this project by entering into a construction contract in May of this year.

As the better weather has arrived, we have now started much of our grounds renovation work at the cemetery. We have also finished plans for a rock niche feature area at our ponds which we believe will offer a very distinctive alternative for families choosing cremation memorialization to honor their loved ones.

Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for March 21, 2007

March 21, 2007

We are currently very pleased with the progress we have made with regard to our Waretown Chapel Mausoleum Building. We have made modifications to our storm sewer site plan and are anticipating approval for these changes prior to putting curbs and pavement down. Once these items are completed we will be moving towards sod in the spring and completion of this project. The Garden State Parkway access has now been opened and travelers on Route 532 entering Waretown will see our chapel facility as they drive by. We believe this street location will continue to be a benefit to the cemetery with the volume of traffic that drives by. The majority of internal work to the building has been completed and furniture has been placed in many of the rooms. We have ordered pews and a lectern for the chapel which should be placed in the building within the next month so that services can take place at the cemetery year round regardless of weather conditions to accommodate our families’ needs.

We have made improvements to our Cremation Chapel and have plans for making additional improvements to this area as well as our original chapel building serving Toms River. We are also in the final stages of receiving quotes for construction of our next mausoleum project in Toms River. This should be a most unique building that will compliment the cemetery and its beautiful grounds. Our spring grounds improvement projects have been outlined and, once the weather breaks, we will begin many improvements along with our regular grounds maintenance and upkeep. We hope to complete the first phase of a rock niche area surrounding our pond feature which will offer a unique opportunity for families to memorialize their loved ones in a very natural setting that offers a tranquil reflecting pond. Our staff continues to work very hard and I am glad to be a part of this team.
