Word from the Executive Director: OCMP Update for March 21, 2007

March 21, 2007

We are currently very pleased with the progress we have made with regard to our Waretown Chapel Mausoleum Building. We have made modifications to our storm sewer site plan and are anticipating approval for these changes prior to putting curbs and pavement down. Once these items are completed we will be moving towards sod in the spring and completion of this project. The Garden State Parkway access has now been opened and travelers on Route 532 entering Waretown will see our chapel facility as they drive by. We believe this street location will continue to be a benefit to the cemetery with the volume of traffic that drives by. The majority of internal work to the building has been completed and furniture has been placed in many of the rooms. We have ordered pews and a lectern for the chapel which should be placed in the building within the next month so that services can take place at the cemetery year round regardless of weather conditions to accommodate our families’ needs.

We have made improvements to our Cremation Chapel and have plans for making additional improvements to this area as well as our original chapel building serving Toms River. We are also in the final stages of receiving quotes for construction of our next mausoleum project in Toms River. This should be a most unique building that will compliment the cemetery and its beautiful grounds. Our spring grounds improvement projects have been outlined and, once the weather breaks, we will begin many improvements along with our regular grounds maintenance and upkeep. We hope to complete the first phase of a rock niche area surrounding our pond feature which will offer a unique opportunity for families to memorialize their loved ones in a very natural setting that offers a tranquil reflecting pond. Our staff continues to work very hard and I am glad to be a part of this team.
